God had made male, female and the combination of both. The combination of both are actually called "Hijda" in Hindi. A typical set of unfortunate people who are abandoned by the society.
This incident actually occured when i was in 9th Standard (in Kolkata). I was on the way back from my Hindi tuition. I was really tired, sitting inside the bus. The bus was stuck in a huge traffic jam. Suddenly a Hijda appeared into the bus and started asking money from the people. One of the reasons of people ignoring them is the fear factor. But among the north Indians mostly the Hindi speaking people consider these people as "auspicious" in the occasions like a new born baby in a family or inaugurations of new Shops etc.
Back to the incident, everybody in the bus gave money, and there was one middle aged man who was very adamant of not giving a single rupee. Hijda actually pleaded and on the way of doing that he/she(i am little confused on that) touched that man's shirt. That man started scolding the Hijda on the top of his voice and started involving others in bus to debate on why are these people created on earth. They are a shame to humanity. Normally these people will be hyperactive and wont tolerate such insults but this hijda was actually to shocked to react. The man started yelling that he/she actually dirtied his shirt by touching him and asked him/her since how many day haven't he/she taken bath. Two or three others males actually joined him. Immediately a lady who was actually sitting next to me got up and went up to these people's place in the bus and asked those men to keep quiet in a loud voice. Everybody got silent. She put a hand inside her purse picked up a 100 Rs note(i think it was a new one, it was shining) gave to that hijda and pulled him/her close to her and kissed on his/her forehead. The Entire crowd inside the bus was shocked. I literally got goosebumps.
Then the lady actually responded to those men by telling " whatever these people are, they are humans, i have to be in their shoes to actually see how painful life is and u shameless people are insulting them. They admire the way we people live and wish even if it is possible for one day, they could actually live like us. But you know what these people have more humanity in them than we all have. Shame on you!".
By this time the Hijda's eyes were totally filled. I exactly don't remember who started clapping first but in few seconds everyone inside the bus apart from the three people who created all this chaos clapped.
Hijda didnot say a single word, couple of tears running down his/her face vacated the bus immediately.
From that day i actually started respecting these people. I hope Society actually takes a strong decision regarding giving all the fundamental rights to them and starts allocating a fixed quota in government Jobs for these people if possible(i think there are none yet) , just to avoid these people begging and getting insulted like this.
I know all these are dreams .... But Life goes on...
